A group of Gaines County residents travelled with Museum Director Roy Lynn Barnes and wife
Bea to Peru from July 22 to August 2. The highlight of the adventure was a journey to the lost ruins
of the Incas at Machu Picchu, standing more than 9,000 ft. above sea level. The group included
(standing, l. to r.) Terry Jeffries and wife Jan, Roy Lynn and Bea Barnes, Connie Lamm, Kathy Davis,
Linda George; (kneeling, l. to r.) Tour guide Alex Vereau, and Charles George. Connie Lamm, Kathy Davis,
and Charles George serve as officers of the Friends of the Gaines County Museum, Seminole division.
